HOLTZ ARCHITECTURE is an architectural design studio specializing in Residential and Mixed-use projects. Founded in 2003, HOLTZ ARCHITECTURE has completed a broad range of of project types from single family homes and luxury condominiums, to corporate interiors, retail spaces and adaptive reuse developments. We have completed projects in all contexts, from urban infill to rural estates, and take pride in recognizing key environmental cues for creating site appropriate design solutions. In our work with real estate developers, we endeavor to understand the business model for each project and work closely with our clients to meet schedule and budget requirements. We approach every new project with a fresh eye in developing the appropriate architectural aesthetic and understand that function and planning are important elements in creating desirable real estate product.
DONALD HOLTZ, AIA NCARB
Originally from Western New York State, Don Holtz received his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Syracuse University, where he studied design and art history in Florence Italy. After moving to Los Angeles in 1987, Don spent the early part of his career gaining a broad base of project experience, including extensive work on projects for the Media and Entertainment Industry. He has designed Sound Stages, Editing and Technical Facilities, and Screening Rooms for Technicolor, Warner Brothers, Fox Studios, Miramax, and numerous independent Production Companies. His employment experience includes time at Gensler and HLW.
HOLTZ ARCHITECTURE offers a full scope of architectural services, from schematic design through construction administration, as well as, pre-design, programming and feasibility studies. Other services include management and coordination of all consulting engineers on both commercial and residential projects, and Permit/Entitlement management.
As principal of HOLTZ ARCHITECTURE, Don works directly with clients to ensure project viability and cost effectiveness through the entire design and construction process.
A licensed Architect in California for over 30 years, he is also licensed to practice in Nevada and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and the American Institute of Architects.
Senior Project Manager
Born in Iran, Arta brings rich educational and career experience to the Holtz Architecture team. With degrees from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and UCLA she provides up-to-date technology capabilities including parametric analysis and BIM database utility. Her career experience includes time in the Bay Area and Los Angeles, and she has held in-house design positions with real estate developers. With this experience, she has a unique understanding of the requirements and needs of our development clients.
As Senior Project Manager she is responsible for on-time project delivery, team management and quality control. She is also skilled in computer drafting and rendering programs including: Autocad, V-Ray, Revit, Sketchup, Photoshop, as well as, Rhino, Maya, 3D Max, and After Effects.
As with all HOLTZ ARCHITECTURE team members, Arta devotes time to continuing education, and stays current with trends and business determinates of the real estate market.
